Exploring Strange New (and Old) Worlds
To Proudly Go (TPG) produces weekly Star Trek events held at the legendary New York City gay bar, Barracuda Lounge (location: 275 W 22nd St, New York, NY 10011), every Saturday at 6pm. We began with our first event Star Trek: Lower Decks, Season 2 in August 2021; today, these shows are more popular than ever, and our audience is ever-expanding.
Each event offers attendees the chance to play Star Trek trivia games and win prizes, see special Star Trek-themed drag performances, watch the latest episodes of Star Trek, meet special guests, and purchase To Proudly Go merchandise and 2-4-1 drink specials.
These events also give TPG the opportunity to widen our network, building a strong and constantly growing community of queer people and their allies who bond over a passion for science fiction and the loving worlds imagined therein. In recognition of our work and our increasing influence, TPG has also been featured guests at events and programming around New York City and the metropolitan area, including Brooklyn Pride, Flame Con, and Star Trek Long Island. The art of Drag is an essential part of what we do, and through our own programming as well as others’, our Drag performers serve as ambassadors to the community we serve and help inform the community about the work we do.
